 Ask my GP 2

Gower Medical Practice uses an online service called 'Ask My GP'.

Requests can be made from 8:00am each day until the GPs reach full capacity on that day.  Once full capacity has been reached, the service will be closed and will reopen at 8:00am on the following morning.  If your problem is an emergency, you will need to telephone the practice when Ask My GP is closed.

We will respond normally within three hours, and will see you same day if needed.

All our registered patients are welcome, parents and carers on behalf of patients too.

You can name a GP if you wish (so long as they are working that day).

You may prefer a message, telephone or face to face response.

You can sign up now, with no paperwork

To register with Ask my GP, please click on the Ask My GP icon above or below

Welcome to Gower Medical Practice

The family practice in Gower had been based in Reynoldston for many years until the first purpose-built surgery was completed in 1973. Dr John Hilliard had taken over on Alan Harries’ retirement in 1983. Dr Philip Matthews joined the practice in 1988.

After more than 28 years working in Gower, Dr Mark Vernon-Roberts retired in 1999. Dr S Emma Thomas and Dr Clare Holland joined the partnership in July 1999.  Dr Catherine Wigley and Dr Stephen Hailey joined the practice as part-time partners in April 2003, replacing Dr Holland.  Dr Hilliard retired with effect from 31st March 2012 after 29 years with the practice with the remaining Partners taking on Dr Hilliard's sessional commitment. Dr Thomas left the surgery in March 2018.  Dr Nicola Jones and Dr Taymour Sahami joined the surgery as Partners in July 2019 and July 2020 respectively.  Dr Stephanie Avery joined the practice as a Salaried GP in October 2021.

We became a training practice in 1983 and moved to our new Scurlage surgery in 1988, having opened a second surgery in Pennard in 1979. In March 2007 Pennard Surgery moved from its base at The Community Centre to a brand new purpose-built surgery on the school site.
