Welcome to the Gower Medical Practice

The family practice in Gower had been based in Reynoldston for many years until the first purpose-built surgery was completed in 1973. Dr John Hilliard had taken over on Alan Harries’ retirement in 1983. Dr Philip Matthews joined the practice in 1988.

After more than 28 years working in Gower, Dr Mark Vernon-Roberts retired in 1999. Dr S Emma Thomas and Dr Clare Holland joined the partnership in July 1999.  Dr Catherine Wigley and Dr Stephen Hailey joined the practice as part-time partners in April 2003, replacing Dr Holland.

We became a training practice in 1983 and moved to our new Scurlage surgery in 1988, having opened a second surgery in Pennard in 1979. In March 2007 Pennard Surgery moved from its base at The Community Centre to a brand new purpose-built surgery on the school site.
